BOTOX

Look Fabulous, Not Frozen!
BOTOX
THERE’S ONLY ONE BOTOX!
Botox is the number one cosmetic procedure in the United States. It is a prescription medicine that is injected directly into the muscles to block nerve impulses, which essentially weakens the muscle and stops the muscle from contracting. Therefore, lines and wrinkles are smoothed.

Also, new research notes that Botox treatment increases the skin’s elasticity and pliability. It acts to eliminate toxins that damage the skin’s elastin and collagen that are produced by facial muscle movement. By paralyzing the facial muscles, Botox gives the skin a chance to heal itself from damage. Essentially, the skin is tightened!

NOT ALL BOTOX IS EQUAL! BEWARE OF “BARGAIN” BOTOX!

Botox at one practice may not be exactly what you get at another. GLOW uses only FDA-approved Botox Cosmetic brand which is exclusively manufactured by Allergan. Botox is shipped to us directly from Allergan. Federal law prohibits non-FDA-approved drug importation. Be aware that counterfeit “Botox” exists; stay away from “Botox” parties, and any events outside of a licensed medical facility.

Botox is shipped as a frozen powder in a glass vial. In order to inject active units of Botox solution, the practitioner must add saline into the vial to convert Botox to liquid form. During this reconstitution process, some facilities add saline at the recommended standard by Allergan, and others add more saline than recommended. Doing so makes Botox become unstable. Facilities who add more saline are “diluting it down” and are injecting you with less effective Botox. Also, Botox loses its maximum effectiveness 4 hours after reconstitution.

Your injector should be a currently licensed and Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Medical Doctor; these professionals have studied and know where muscles lie and attach. All Botox treatments are performed by our Board Certified nurse practitioners. Because Botox must be injected into muscles, your results largely depend on what muscles and where within the muscle Botox is injected. In other words, always ask for the concentration of Botox, how long it has been diluted, and the qualifications of the injector. With this in mind, please be cautious when practices offer Botox at bargain prices. At GLOW, you will always receive maximum strength, fresh BOTOX; you are assured of the efficacy of the product.

Botox is injected into the targeted muscle using a tiny micro-needle. Results are seen within 10 days. Botox lasts up to four months. Individual results may vary. It is important that you keep your head elevated (e.g., do not lie down or bend over) for approximately 6 hours after BOTOX® Cosmetic injections.
